My Little Monster

Jakeymonster is such a funny, little boy. He loves to grunt, yell, and pull hair. He's not quite jumping in his Johnny Jump Up. The spring isn't as springy as it should be. But he sure loves to walk around & around in it. I can't believe how fast he's growing! He was almost 7-months-old when this pic was taken in December.

I made this LO for Allsorts Challenge Blog. I appreciate how they challenge you to use their sketch for ANY project you choose. I feel guilty, sometimes, when I make cards because I'm two thousand years behind in scrapbooking my pictures. I plan on using this sketch again for my other little monster.

Sweet Love

Note to self: Copic pens & Biz Mark-it pens, when used together, will bleed. Three stamped images later, and voila here is my card for 2Sketches4You. I made it for my darling Grandma, who I get to see tomorrow. I can't believe I actually did two challenges in one day. This is rare for me since I get distracted easily. I could have done more challenges today but I ended up watching Marie Antoinette for a couple of hours in between challenges.

Btw, the girl on the card (me) is singing "Sweet Love" by Anita Baker. That is all.

It's never too late to say Thank You, right?

Check out my first square card for Mojo Monday. I loved this sketch & plan on doing a LO with it this weekend, as well. I've been having a hard time utilizing my papers from the La Creme Stack. I don't know what I was thinking when I picked it up last year. Maybe I was hypnotized by the flowers & flocking but I really don't know what to do with the other papers. I'll keep trying to use it because I was very pleased with this Thank You card that I made. And...because I like petting the flocking.

I sometimes always take more than two weeks to send out Thank You cards. I don't do it on purpose. I just prefer to send out homemade cards & 98.9% of the time, the card is made especially for that person. Maybe someday WHEN I become much more organized in my studio, prioritize the bazillion items on my to-do list, the laundry learns how to do itself & I grow another set of arms & hands, I'll be able to meet the two week time frame suggested in the Thank You Card Etiquette manual. As for now, my cards are homemade & full of love, usually include a picture, and will hopefully get to you within the year.

hearts & flowers & cabbage

I can't believe it's almost Valentine's Day! Wasn't it just Thanksgiving & Christmas? I was so stressed out this last holiday season that I swore I would start preparing for the holidays sooner this year. The day after Halloween is not too early to put up Christmas decorations...is it?

The latest challenge from Allsorts calls for hearts & flowers. They are such a great combo. I just might use them again for an upcoming challenge.

I've got to get a move on my Valentine's Day cards. Pretty soon, St. Patrick's Day will be here. Although I don't send out St. Patty Day cards...I've discovered a few years ago that I LOVE the traditional Irish dish, corned beef & cabbage! Yum! I'll be scouring the Vons weekly ads for the next few weeks just waiting to hoard some corned beef. Can I mention how infatuated I've become with cabbage these past two weeks? I've made cabbage-cheddar chowder twice. The second time I made it, I doubled the recipe. I also made a cabbage and potato bake, twice! The second time I made that dish, I did without the potatoes & not doubled but tripled the amount of cabbage! I've gone coocoo for cabbage.

Achoo!

It's been a while since I've been on my blog, it's a bit dusty. I haven't scrapbooked in two months. I was missing it terribly. I needed to do a challenge to get my mojo back. (Hi Lani!) Luckily, I remembered my blog password. The first challenge on my list is from Sketchy Thursday. Their sketches always inspire me. I loved making this lo because I spent the time reminiscing about our new life as husband and wife. That's one of the things that I love about scrapbooking. It allows me to spend time with my pics & take a trip down memory lane. Thank you, Sketchy Thursday for the challenge & inspiration. It's great to be back in the studio!

Thank you, bravo!

When our cable was cut off 8 days ago, I had a panic attack. With hot shows like Project Runway & Housewives of Atlanta just starting new seasons, I was already having withdrawals an hour into the cancellation. Even within seconds after I noticed the cable guy removing the ladder from my neighbor's backyard, I was on the phone making arrangements so that my tv watching would NOT be interrupted. Visions and scents of a time when we were without cable for a year and a half, returned. Sure, there were some rabbit ears in the living room. You gotta do what you gotta do. The loss of cable is by choice, by the way, but still... very traumatic.

The next day I found, that I can actually watch my shows online. Thanks to bravotv.com, mylifetime.com, and the like. You can pretty much catch anything you've missed online. Cbs, less on the soap operas, more on the big bang theory, em effers! I do have Cbs, but tBBt has changed their time to 9:30. I'm usually knocked the eff out by that time.

Life without cable has been quite lovely. My smooth internet connection has shone a brilliant light upon a very dark spot. I've been able to enjoy many forgotten things whilst keeping up with my stories. Bravo, why aren't there any videos of Jeff Lewis? We need full episodes here, people! I don't want to see photos. I want to hear and watch this dude.

Next, I'm looking up the Kardashians and iCarly.

go chargersss!

I made this LO for the "cute as a bug" challenge from Cupcake Craft Challenges.
